The culinary journey undertaken by chef Ramesh Damai has bought him all the way from the mountains of nepal to Toowoomba- and the Garden city is the richer for it.

 Born in Nepal, chef damai's love of cooking began in his local hospitality industry. He worked as a Tandoori and Curry chef for five years at Mirch Masala Restaurant in Ahmedbad. During the next nine years, he ran the five restaurants and three clubs with a large staff, before jumping at the opportunity to work in Australia.

"In 2004, I came to one of the best Indian restaurants in Toowoomba." Ramesh said. Working hard to offer authentic Indian cuisine to Toowoomba diners, Ramesh specialises in all the tantalizing flavours of the exotic East. Patrons loved his mouthwatering menu and Ramesh soon become an established chef in the Garden city.

After five years in Toowoomba, in 2009 Ramesh was at last able to realise his dream of opening his own restaurant. "I looked for two years before i found the perfect spot," he said. Now established in his own Everest Spice Restaurant on the corner of Margaret and Mary Streets, Ramesh creates authentic Indian dishes for lovers of spicy food and also provides take-away, home delivery and catering services.
